well i live in vegas and our mayor is meeting with nba officials in april to discuss it and he's saying it'll be 2-3 years and he sounded confident about it happening. all we need to do is not allow betting on our team. i think its about time we got a professional sports team we're the 1st or 2nd fastest growing city in the country. many of the locals here could care less about going to casinos anymore it gets old we want sports. and for you tourists who wouldnt love to come here and also get to see your favorite team play? im guessing its either going to be the kings or sonics. im hoping for the kings though cause there my favorite team =o]

No professional sports team should have anything to do with Las Vegas. Any semblance of legitimacy is lost.
Willie Mays worked as a greeter for a casino after he retired as a player, and baseball issued him an ultimatum to either not work there, or forget about having anything to do with MLB again.
There's no reason to put a team there. No team could survive for very long in Vegas. It's one thing to have an all star game there, it's quite another to have a crappy expansion team that nobody wants to see.

im gonna take the other side. im all for a vegas nba team. I think it is an untapped market and they need some sports team there. When you have teams bringing in 14k people a night for attendance i think vegas can do a much better job than that. And so what if there are casinos, every city has casinos, just not so many.

No. Vegas is only too lots a who ya know city. No group would stay to tell the story financially if it did no longer do nicely top out of the gate. the traditional individual would be dealt with like a no one till the massive Cats who run this city and the inns have been given tired of shoving the tickets down their components and gamblers throats. by ability of then, they might have alienated the traditional fan who truthfully will pay to work out the group play. in case you think of i do no longer know what i'm speaking approximately, ask around our honest city and do a head count sort of the kind of nicely-known human beings who attended the Allstar interest. minimum!!! Secondly, the Thomas and Mack middle is antiquated by ability of immediately's section standards. NBA commissioner Stern mentioned that on close by television and is quoted in the Las Vegas overview magazine. you do no longer positioned a state-of-the-paintings section up in one day!

Las Vegas is a city of entertainment. I don't think they need any more. The city is great for all-star games, but the majority of people there are tourists on a vacation.

On one I think they'd make a great basketball city, but on the other hand there is just way too much temptation. There's a reason they call it Sin City.
