Giving you inspiration and simply giving you a tune are NOT the same thing.

It's time for you to learn about the Business of Music and silly little words like Copyright, Publishing. If I "gave" you a tune I would legally own half of the song, which means, if you got a hit with it, you'd make only 1/2 of the money that you had coming.

Much better to learn how to draw inspirations from others and come up with something considered original, than to start out by just rolling over and playing dead.

Here is MY way...your's my be different:

I usually go for the groove first, even if I think I have a piece of a tune or a hook line of lyrics.

Imagine a groove to some other song that you like, and then play with in your head, making sounds like a crazy person (oh, this is best done in total privacy) and trying out patterns of chord changes that are all your own.

The advantage of doing this will be that, when you overlay your melody, it will tend to be more minimalistic, which is the type of song lyric that sells much easier.

People who overload their songs with all kinds of words are not writing lasting songs for the ages.

Also, by laying down a groove and chords first, you can then be creative with the melody, not making it repeat all the time, but using phrases of notes in a way that moves the tune from one key to another naturally.

You likely don't do anything like the music I do, but you are welcome to listen to the songs on my website.

Check out "Into The Heart of The Night" and "You Ain't Got The Blues", and see if they give you ideas for song structure, playing a melody against the chord changes.

All music has more in common than what people want to admit, and as you learn to draw inspiration from the works of others (without copying what they do) then you will be on your way.

Break a leg!

What I would do is just sit back and look at your life, and the everyday. Write something that you know about, and something that people can relate to. If people know where you're coming from, chances are they will like it.
