Jealous of what? "God created man in his own image" so if anything the human would have some qualities of the divine, not the other way around. One doesn't say that a Roman has qualities of a Sculpture of a Roman. Think about it.

My God is not jealous or insecure in any way.
In fact he gave me the faculty of discernment so I could tell the difference between the will of God and the human translation.
Indeed you are right about the Christian God, but that is only because the Christain of today is likely to have been indoctrinated from a book, whereas the unity with God
( which cannot be arrested in a book) is written in the hearts of children, and overwritten by the bigotry of grown-ups

I've heard it said "God created man and man returned the favor". That explains why God has so many human qualities.
The fact is no one knows God. With mans limited nature we cannot comprehend the nature of God. The finite cannot understand the infinite.
One of the qualities attributed to God is that God is everywhere. Accepting that as truth, God is in us, or we are in God, that is if we exist anywhere, or we are part of God or God is part of us.

There are only theories about what or who God is, there are no facts. Personally, I believe every person on earth has a different perception of who/what God is. Any perceptions of God as being a seperate Being from us or anything else are obviously flawed.
Perhaps if we want to know if God is perfect we should just ask him/her/it.

If you read the book of genesis it says that the first man was made at God's image... that means that humans have the same qualities that God has but we cant show them in the same way that God does. and if you keep reading tha bible you will notice that God use all his qualities in a perfect way he is never abusive or rude... every time he shows his power is controlled and for a reason... and when his purpose are full filled he stops. even the bible says that when he forgives he never bring the mistake back again.

Most Christian religion gives God human qualities like revenge, jealousy, etc. Mankind gave God those qualities to fill church benches and give all their money to the Church. I am a Gnostic Christian which believes God is love and nothing more.

God and his son Jesus are the only perfect beings to ever exist. Jesus is the only on who actually walked this earthHe is not jealous what he is maybe a little angry that the people that he created are soooooo ignorant that they can not seem to grasp the fact that he is the alpha and the omega... the beginning and the end. But he loved the people he create sooooo much that he gave his only son soooo that they could have ever lasting life. That is kind of like the parent thing... if you haven't became a parent yet you really can not grasp what I am saying... give it time and maybe read the bible it explains thing a little better

I too will try not to be disrespectful... but I didnt understand the question enough I guess. I couldnt understand why you mentioned the Christian God as jealous.

Read Hindu or Greek mythology, they are humans.

May be the old guys kept them humanic because they wanted us to follow a tangible idol....rather than a spirit.

If there were a God, and s/he/it were perfect, you wouldn't have to ask the question - "is God perfect". God would make it "perfectly" understandable.

As it is, the concept of God is the product of the quite fallible human mind. Some even say that - "man made God in his own image". Fits with your observation, correct?

The Bible appears to have been written by many people, number one, so it's not entirely consistent. Furthermore, that is a technical detail that its writers weren't concerned with when they were writing it; in addition, they probably didn't have any problem with God being jealous; maybe they believed it should be a given.

The God of the Bible loves us so much, he sent his own son to prove it. He doesn't want anything taking us away from all the goodness that is Him. It is in that sense alone that we say he is jealous over us. And, yes, only He is perfect; that is the reason we need Jesus. Have a wonderful day, and thanks for your question.
