Just buy a new pole. Seriously. Peekaboo Poles are not professional. No matter what solution you conjure up, you're still running the risk of breaking your neck with faulty installation. Invest in a better pole. A Lil Mynx is much cheaper than a hospital bill.

With that said, if you are dead-set about using your Peekaboo, grab your phone book and find a home repairman. A licensed repairman should be able to safely install the pole for you.

First, you have one lucky guy for a boyfriend! Let me explain as best that I can. Okay, the pole has a specific diameter. For discussion sake, let's say it's 2" in diameter. I take it that can somehow attach to the floor and you want it permanently mounted? If so, put it where you want it and drill a 2" diameter hole through your ceiling straight up from the floor mounted position. The hole will probably end up between two ceiling joist. You'll have to get in the attic area where the hole is (check to see if you have access to this area BEFORE you drill the 2" hole). Measure the distance between the joist, cut a 2x6 or larger to fit, place it where the hole will be, from below have someone mark on the board where the 2" diameter hole is located. Drill another 2" diameter hole thru the 2x6 and place it back exactly to where the 2 holes align with each other. Take some 3" wood screws and fasten the new board in that exact location. Now you can slip the pole thru the 2" hole and then mount it to the floor. It should be really secure now for some new moves. Good luck!

Calli, thanks for sharing, I sure you would be a wonderful performer. As far as your work issue is concerned. You would a bracket at the top and bottom. I would use 3 inch screws or better. Below I found to website where you can purchase the flanges ( the brackets that hold the pole to the floor and ceiling)(if you don't have them) and the second one is how to install one, this is a very detailed installation. This may be take some handy work to complete, hope your up for the task. Good Luck and make me proud.

as long as you mount it where there is a joint or a stud you should be fine unless you weigh 200lbs which I doubt you do.
