That is so true home sis! Oh my God, what is even worse is I have a music critic right in my family and he is my brother! He likes alot of the hip hop and rap, and thats fine, I totally respect that! I hate how he thinks that type of music is better than what i listen to! I listen to alot of punk and rock, techno, alternative, folk, and indie music. He just calls it noise, I am thinking "how small minded are you!" I never critizise his music at all, but I just know that he is like that too. I don't care what other people think about the music I listen to....its just the music I listen too, and I love it!
Yes people very much need to accept other people's styles and preferences...including music, tv shows, hair styles, clothes, books, ect., Lets face it no one likes to be judged! So people need to look at the person, on the inside before judging their appearance and actions!

Music is very fasinating to me.I was raised on Johnny Cash,Classical and the doors ect.
as a teen i love the big hair bands (giving away my age)
todays music is more chalenging to accept because of the different formats.
there is some rap that I dont mind but as you said it has taken over the tv ads and shows kinda makes you feal force fed.
its a shame with all the music from all over the world (watch link tv's world music)That we are succomd to the current money makers.

I understand, and luckily I like a lot of different kinds of music, A lot more than I dont like, I'd say. But I want the freedom to listin to the kind I feel like listening to. But people should respect other peoples rights to sleep or have a quiet campspot, or whatever. Listin to what you like, but dont force others to have an unpleasant time because you want to crank your stereo at 3:30 a.m. There are places where you can crank it up. or buy good headphones.

who's not respecting your choices? Sounds like you are a little narrow minded yourself. There is a little something to like in every kind of music if your open your mind and stop trying to be cool by being "different" This IS the USA and the last time I checked you could listen to whatever you wanted to without getting killed, or thrown in jail.

babe, you are damn rite, abt choices.... but the day, you feel the music inside of you, as a musician, you will love all music, koz music has no barriers... respecting the music is not enough to make you feel special, but to try to love the music, and give it your own touch of how do you describe the music.
for me personally, i didnot like blues, inthe past, but the day, a tried, kansas city, and jonny be good... made mike gone blues!!!! babe, try to love em' all. btw i hate commercial music!!!
