Excessive pain can be a sign of endometriosis or pelvic inflammatory disease. Make an appointment with your doctor to rule these things out.

I used to get periods so bad that I would be in bed for the first 2-3 days, and would even throw up they were so painful. After ruling out health concerns, she gave me percocet to use for the pain.

You should also have your doctor fill out an FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) form for you. That way your employer cannot hold it against you for any absences you have due to this problem. They cannot fire or punish you. You have to meet certain criteria to qualify for FMLA though. Your employer has to have at least 50 employees, you have to be employed there for at least 12 months (the 12 months do not need to be consecutive), and you need to have worked at least 1,250 hours during those 12 months.

I dont think there are really alot of things out there except like medicines like tylonal, midol, and those kinds of things. I tried birth control to regulate my periods and didn't really help me. Some people say to take a hot bath thats suppose to help or you just have to lay down with a heating pad. One thing though hun that not a good weight to be 5'7 and 120 lbs your under weight. I am 5'7 and I weighed 130 lbs last year and you could see my hips bones and my bones really bad everyone said I was way to skinny. If you are that skinny you might have problems having kids, maybe you should talk to your doctor. Best of luck! I read somewhere being 5'7, and under 126 is condsidered under weight.

What I found works is to exercise throughout the month (30 minutes of cardio or weightlifting three days a week), but particularly on day 10 of my cycle. I don't know why, but if I do that, then I don't get any PMS symptoms at all. It's been a real help.

my cousin had the same kind of period during her teen years and later found out that she had fybroids. what ever they are. after they were removed she didn't have the problem but it took surgery to get rid of them.
