we been trying for about a year and half with no luck. what should we try

Whats the rush, get married first.
I am sure everyone said that so I will spare that. You should talk to your urologist and get your sperm tested, and she should talk to her OB and first they will check to make sure she is ovulating, they will do blood test and try to determine what the cause is. Those are the first steps.
I personally just started those steps and turned out I wasn't ovulating and I had just started Clomid a fertility pill to make me ovulate. She should get tested first. My husband hasn't been tested so if the clomid doesn't work that will be the next step.

It took my husband and I two years. Sometimes it just takes more time.

go to the dr..
it could be many things that are not allowing you to conceive, it could be you, could be her, some things are major, and some things are minor, goodluck!

What is a (so-to be)?
Maybe that's part of the problem.
