First make you sure you have your savings/bank accounts he can't touch. Then find a new place to live, cheap. Ask yourself do I want the kids? If yes tell him you want out of the relationship and see if he will move out. If No, then you move out. Be honest and direct. If you leave he will probably get custody and the house. Talk to a divorce lawyer about the laws in your state.

Are you married or just in a "relationship?"

Definitely talk to your spouse and tell him how you feel. With it being 10 years I am assuming that you are a much mature and wiser woman than I am, but you need to come to an agreement. First discuss each others feelings then when you are both on the same level, decided on the children and property division. Do it when you both have complete attention on the subject.. topics like this can be 2 minutes to 2 hours long...

Best of luck to you!

There is no easy way to leave. If you are truely unhappy, then take your children and go. If he is good to you, then maybe you should talk to him first and see how he feels.
