I think they should be allowed in the highschools, but not used during those hours. My 2 daughters have a cell phone, because they walk home and in case of an emergency. Let any school official try to take it awya from them to see what happens. I would be at the Superindents office in a second!

Well think about it--- 20 years ago no one had cell phone in school and they survived. Now a days every kid has money so use the telephone if it's that important. Besides calling thier parents or work what is so important that can't wait. School is a place to learn. Phones can be distracting in ways.

Cell phones are allowed at Rancho Pico Junior High school, according to my little brother's best friend's older brother...so I figure cell phones should be allowed for high schools too

As a parent of a 15 yr old girl in high school I say yes. She knows that she is not to use it for any frivolous reasons and that it should be shut off during class. I want her to have it in case she needs to contact me for an emergency or when she is sick and needs to come home. I have a 7 yr old boy in school to and if I thought for a moment he wouldn't loose it he would have one with him at school to.

Yes, they are allowed in our high school, but they have to turn the sound off. Text messaging, is good, but if you are taking a test give your phone to your teacher for the duration.

yes,becuz high school students r more mature and they could handle cellphones.in high schools,theres alot of drama going on so,in case of an emergency,cell phones would b useful.besides high schools students need they,re freedom too.
