How can I get from Maryland to Arizona with 150$ or less?

I thought about traveling to see a friend of mine...but I am currently in Maryland and she lives in Arizona and I only have 150 dollars and some quarters left...so I just want to know what is the cheapiest way to get from Baltmore to Pheniox?

greyhound, not the most comfortable ride, but you'll get there, in a few days. Its pretty safe, I guess. better than hitchhiking. They have specials, you may still have change left for food. not too long ago, it seems it was, like, 79 or 89.00 to go anywhere, (I think) check online or call 'em! I went from Nevada to Missouri a few years ago for 99.00 It's better if you are a small person. (I'm not)you can take a couple of bags underneath and one smaller carry-on. keep your snacks and magazines, stuff you might need in that one. you will only see your other bags if you transfer or have to wait for a new bus. and even then sometimes they send your bags on a different bus, so keep your important stuff with you.

Greyhound.com. See if they still have their five-day-advance special going. The bus is a marvelous way to travel. You'll see stuff you haven't ever seen, and meet people well worth meeting. The buses are quite safe; their drivers are exceedingly vigilant about any nonsense that takes place on their bus, and one call from a Greyhound driver brings a couple of police cars, from anywhere, and fast.

You might want to take tapes or videos or something to read, but I suspect that you'll find, as I did, that the scenery and new surroundings are all that you really need. It is a marvelous experience, far better than an airplane, for on a bus you are truly _traveling._

You should, however, invest in one of those 'neck pillows' that go around your neck and thus support your head. And consider bringing a blanket, though I think some buses still have them.

There's generally a lot of room on a long-distance bus, so you'll likely have no problem finding a seat to stretch out on.

Have fun. Life is worth an adventure, and sitting on a runway for hours waiting to take off shouldn't be in anyone's itinerary.

renting a car or getting a bus ticket would be too expensive.

try priceline.com sometimes you can name your price and get plane tickets-- you may need to take a red eye flight or switch planes a few times, but you'll get there.
