I am 24 years old, a recent college gradute...I want a suit that I can be confident going to job interviews in, business school interviews, and perhaps a blazer I could wear at nicer clubs. I tend to like unique patterns and color schemes (but I also need something practical)... I am fond of Kiton, Paul Smith, and Armani however both design tend to be on the expensive side. Assuming I have three thousand to spend on suits, what do you think I should go for (brand, design, color)...also how many would I need to get started...should I go for more suits with the nice but less expensive designers (Brooks Brothers) or go with maybe one nice NICE with a high end designer like Armani? Also...who makes the best dress shirt?

invest in a few good suits especially if you're in business but you don't have to break the bank (but save up for a paul smith suit for sure, very young but elegant and also a pinstripe suit cos it's so classic and will never go out of style). and it's almost obligatory to own a black suit. grey and navy are good too.
banana republic and express men also make good quality suits that are more affordable to the budget. also tip for dress shirts, you can get designer shirts at discount stores like ross or tj maxx for 75% off or more. as far as dress shirt colors, i personally don't like men dressing in every color in the crayola box, it can look cheap and tacky sometimes. instead you can play around with a dress shirt's texture and weave (pinpoint, herringbone, etc.) or patterns (pinstripes, checks, and stripes) but you can never go wrong with blue oxford, french blue, and the classic clean crisp white dress shirt. also with color, i would lean toward pastels and lighter colors (pale pinks and yellows) than darker colors (eww burgundy, emerald green, deep purple), just personal preference again. it's more young and fresh looking to me

Do not spend too much on a suit for interviews unless you are shooting for a job that could support such expenditures. In other words, your interviewer will not be impressed by your $3k suit for a $25 (or less) per hour job. It won't help you.
Spend a day at a mid-priced suit shop like Men's Warehouse. They will offer you choices and pamper you a bit with try-ons. Pick something you like. If you are looking to get into a good business job, remember that most of your potential bosses are probably conservative. Do not get something too flashy, while expressing your own style. Get something practical that can be used as a blazer or a 3 piece and a color that could withstand a variety of shirt and tie styles and patterns.
If you are heavy or short, avoid bulky styles and colors. Try lighter colors and pin stripes. Black is generally too formal. Choose clean lines. Choose something that projects the best you.
Charlie's suggestion of 2 suits is good!

For $3000 you can get a full set of dress clothes that will look great and will keep you looking good for job interviews. I have shopped at the Men's Wearhouse many times and have never been disappointed. If you go in there, tell them what you want the suits/clothes for and tell them what your tastes are they will set you with a full wardrobe at a reasonable price. They carry high quality goods that look great. Keep in mind that you don't want anything extravagant when interviewing. Interviewers don't want to see how "unique" your taste is. Either black or charcoal is best. If you want to get something a little different, try changing it up with a tie.

Chubby girls are pretty too. Don't take me wrong. Choose the suit that you like the best. Just remember that it is for swimming, and not for showing off. What a great sport! Enjoy!

Start with two suits. You won't have to wear the same one to a return interview. After you land the right job, you will be able to decide for yourself.

Any suit that is black with slight white or grey pin stripes on them would look very handsome on any guy.
