Right click on My Computer and select properties. The pop-up will show how much memory (or RAM) you have installed right now.

Your mother board physically limits the memory capacity. READ your motherboard users guide!

Or, pull the plug out of the wall after you shut down your system. Open the case and count the number of RAM slots.

Too, you can go onto the web site of your motherboard and look up the specifications.

Are you trying to figure out how much more ramm you can install into your PC? If so, crucial.com has a scanner to tell you how many bays or slots you've got open and what types of memory it can take and its maximum capacity. That way you don't but two gigs and the PC only recognizes a single gig.

There is no absolute way to do that, all that software-right-clicks-on-my-computer tell you is the virtual memory which might not be the actual memory state.

But again, are you really bothered? lol
