Do google search for your area. There are many cosmetology colleges. I think most of them are two year degrees.

In most states you just need to have at least a sophomore in HS education, be at least 16 years old and a few other minor things.

They base it on the amount of hours, in CA and WA a cosmetology license is 1600 hours. Since it's 5 days a week, it should take about 11 months or a year. Tuiton is usually around $6,000-$7,000 and also, a manicuring license would take about 3 months to get.

A community college in your area may offer this program at low cost. The program usually takes up to 12 months to complete, depending on full time or part time status. your next step is to pass an exam offered in your state to become a certified licensed cosmetologist, Good luck.

Most cosmetology schools only require you to have a GED or high school diploma. If there is a specific school you want to know about, you would need to talk to someone in enrollment or check on their websites. When I was checking out schools all they wanted to know was if I had my diploma from high school.
Depending on your state requirements the hours range from 900 to 1500. You can google to find your state requirements for licensing. In Texas, where I live it takes about nine months to complete the course attending full time.
With the cosmo course, you will able to so facials and nails because you will learn these too.

every state is a little different so try looking at your states state board of cosmetology. I had to have 1500 clock hours of training and then go to a state board test with both written and clinical tests. this covered hair nails and skin so i am able to do alot of things. you could try calling a local school they can answer some questions for you. most that I have spoken to are very helpful.
good luck!!!
