It's about giving up, I would assume. It's about finally losing everything you are and have until you are left with nothing to live for. I am now so close to the dge of being homeless that I know the feeling. All my life I have worked out of well-paying factories that have let me lead a fairly decent life with a pretty good house and food on the table. Within the past five years, I have helped one factory after another close down and have seen every decent job within my city fade away. Now I am stuck with retail jobs and food jobs that I know nothing about and honestly do not wish to get stuck in. Going from $9 to $15 an hour down to minimum wage doesn't cut it anymore. I would move to another city, but I can't find the money now to get started. Going back to school will not cut it for me because I need a job first and the government will not give me help because I am a white male. I understand the kind of hopelessness homeless people have. I understand the need to just give up knowing that tomorrow may be just as bad as today...but I struggle on. I have to. I am sure every homeless person out there now thought the same thing at one point in time. Perhaps when I do finally lose everything I have, maybe I will join them.
Here is some food for thought though: Do you know the highest percentage of people in this country who actually do give money to the homeless? Poor people. We are so close to the edge that we know what it is like to fall off.

Unfortunately being homeless is a lifestyle choice. It could be from low self esteem, or just being screwed over by society today. A far greater reason is some people make more money begging than a minimum wage job pays without having to put up with every-ones BS. Work when you want, wake-up when you want and live where you want. No responsibilities.

This is not so simple to answer. There are several circumstances that could put a person out on the streets. MANY of them are our veterans, some are just to poor to be able to keep up with the cost of living. Someone I have known personally lost their home and had no family to turn to, with children that were hungry and needing more than a shelter she asked for money. Some people are just lazy or on drugs but I ask you does a couple of dollars break your bank account? and if it does you should feel for these people instead of judging them.

i've got by no potential been homeless. I did volunteer at a homeless look after for a 2-12 months stretch. i'm extremely familiar with the struggles you're dealing with, yet I admit I ever by no potential easily experienced them myself. First, in my time on the look after, i might say that ninety 8% of those there have been there simply by fact of their very own fault. maximum did have some form of addiction (drug, alchohal, playing) which brought about them to lose each and every thing. So for human beings to anticipate that, regardless of the actuality that it won't be able to be actual, is lifelike. a minimum of, it would possibly no longer marvel you. As for being valueless, I doubt if maximum folk sense that way approximately you. i'm specific some do, yet I do basically no longer think of that maximum folk are that merciless. enable me congratulate you on motivating your self to bypass on your temp pastime internet site on a daily basis. it incredibly is exactly this way of tension you may desire to come back on your ft. i might additionally enable you already know that when you do artwork, which you will possibly desire to attempt to do a extra desirable pastime than each and every person else, no longer purely what's predicted of you. As an company, i will enable you already know that there is not any such element as non everlasting artwork for the main suitable workers. Your company will stumble on a place for you permantly if he sees you outshining all others. I choose you the main suitable, and want you get to confirm your daughter quickly.

What would you like a homeless person to do, exactly?
Now, I'm absolutely for people helping themselves, but just in your tone and judgment of homeless people, I can see they'd have no chance working for you if you owned a business. Who do you think would hire them? Where, do you propose, they shower, get dressed for work, etc.? Where do you suggest they save the money with other homeless folks who are ruthless and might be prone to violence to get that money?
Unless you are ever in that situation, you really should refrain from judging. Make an effort to understand it. Ask a homeless person yourself instead of asking everyone else BUT them.

you have to realize that if these people were normal they would have a job. Many are mentally ill who never got the help they deserve. Many are physically ill also and have no one to help them in social security. Some cannot read or write and know no way to get better. And as you said some are addicts.

Some are lazy or addled by drugs or alcohol, but others are disabled and see no way to break their cycle; the latter I have compassion for, the former I don't.
