You will spend at least $2000 for a GPS telescope. See the first source. But there are many GOTO telescopes without the GPS feature for that price range. See the other sources.

I received a good book for christmas on building telescopes. Check out dobsonian telescopes on the net in particular John Dobson and sidewalk astronomers.
These units are professional with trakers etc.

once you're doing extreme paintings, a reflector is larger effective; you're not any further getting dispersion nor absorption of a few wavelengths through the glass. i have were given no longer regarded at the moment, yet Meade and Questar made solid instruments.

If you're going to spend that much, just make yourself a permanent mount for it, and then you never really have to spend more than 30 seconds aligning it. Make one out of concrete, or make a little shed to put it in permanently, with a roll back roof or something.
