After watching the all star game it made me think that if these guys were in the contest it wouldve been much better. Even though Howard Thomas Nate and Green did great I just think it wouldve been more exciting if these players were in it what do you think.

You are only allowed to go in the dunk contest whilr in your first three seasons. i can't remember when the commish put that rule in. also a lot of players don't want to participate in it.

Absolutely! Don't get me wrong, Gerald Green's dunk over Little Nate was impressive and Dwight's Sticker on the backboard was creative, but it would have been better with Kobe and Vince. They are just more exciting and they get the crowd more into it. It would also be pretty interesting to see Shaq enter the contest. Maybe he could dunk over Dwayne Wade or something.

I think David Stern has taken a lot of excitement out of the All Star Weekend by not letting the best dunkers like Kobe, Carter, McGrady, and Lebron compete because they are over 3 years in the NBA. I think it was one of the worst decisions in the history of the NBA maybe even the worst ahead of bringing in the 3 point line in the 90's, and changing the ball for part of the season.

It would've been great to see Kobe, Carter, and Amare in the dunk contest. But star players just don't respect the event the way MJ and Dominique Wilkins use to.

The dunk contest isn't the star studded event it once was as there is little creativity left.
Hell the winner this year had to borrow from last year
but why would you include Shaq? he's a power dunker not a flashy dunker for points

I think that would be exciting, but the league , mainly, if not always, brings in new and young players. Stoudemire and Carter would be interesting to see and I think Kobe may have had a few tricks up his jersey.

Kobe is too cool for it. Shaq is too fat . Stoudemire maybe, not his best game, though.
