There is loads of info on using polymer clay in all kinds of ways at my polymer clay "encyclopedia" website, GlassAttic.

For most of the direct info on making figures, dolls, etc.,
go to the Table of Contents page there (or the home page):
http://glassattic.com/polymer/contents.htm
...then click on the names of each of the following 5 pages from the alphabetical navigation bar on the left side of the page:

Sculpting
....(in the "Websites" category on this page, there are special subcategories for "dolls," and for "realistic figures" which you may be most interested in)

ALSO:
Sculpting-Bodies & Tools
Heads
Armatures-Permanent
Miniatures

(you can also scroll all the way down the Table of Contents page to see all other other things covered at the site)

Each of the pages will also have lots of links to other lessons and examples on the internet, as well as tips, troubleshooting -- and the main Sculpting page also has links for various polymer sculpting groups that are online, etc.
