I do drugs
My friends do drugs
Me and my friends do drugs

Anything I do involves my friends and therefore drugs

I want to meet new people and have fun without a bowl, tab, or mushroom. I don't regret any of it, and it has bettered me in some ways, but it is too much now,

How break this cycle and meet new people and put the drugs behind me?

Thanks for the ideas, I guess I can elaborate somewhat. I am by no chance rock bottom, I've just had a 3 year rollar coaster ride, but I'm still holding it together. I just want to avoid the point of no return.

I've had friends reach out to support groups and they all assume the worst and beat you up for it. So I'm trying to help myself before having to depend on someone to do it for me.

I have a great job, I am the operation manager for a small marketing company, and am the manager for an office of 7. I somehow manage a status of full-time sutdent, full-time manager, and night-time stoner.

My suggestion to you would be.....call your local counseling center, and tell them what youre trying to do, and they can suggest some things to you. It will enable you to meet new ppl, and get involved in new things. This will get your mind on new things and off the old friends and the drugs. My sister has just gone thru this, but she went thru it the hard way. She finally got busted and went to jail for 2 yrs. Its far from over for her.

You have the opportunity to make a change before that happens. There are ppl out there that can help. If you dont want to go to a counseling center, you could always join a gym, youd meet ppl there, or any another kind of group thing. Look in your local newspaper. See whats going on where you live. I wish you the best of luck. I think its great that youve made the decision to get away from this and change this part of your life. Good for you.*

So you've had enough, eh?

Get involved with a club or activity at school.... music, drama, art, foreign language, bowling ....whatever you like. That will put you in the company of different people-- people who spend their time on constructive pursuits.

Go apply for a job - you will have something to fill your time and you will be around different people. Not to mention that you have to have a clear head to do the work expected of you.

If you need help, try a counselor or self help program.
The first step is recognizing that it's too much, the second step is wanting to change. You are ready to take the third step - so DO IT!

If we continue to do the same thing & get different results that is where insanity comes in .
I was told to change everything I was doing if I wanted to live a better , healthy life . Maybe that would work for you too .
