Hey guys,
I'm going to visit Long Island, NY this weekend. I live in Connecticut, so every source online that I've checked routes me through the Long Island Expressway. According to some folks at my workplace, it is notoriously busy. How busy is the LIE during Saturday/Sunday morning... any easier way to get to Long Island, like a ferry (price would be appreciated).......

Thanks again.

The Long Island Expressway is very busy but it keeps moving along. And weekends are always busy.

Ferries are a great relaxing way to make the trip too.
This is the site for the ferry services, all the details are there, along with a 1800 number for further info:

There is a ferry that goes from Bridgeport, CT to Port Jefferson, NY. I don't know the price, but it should be easier than going down through CT and NYC to catch the LIE.

everywhere is sturdy as long as you're making it such. i've got been in Rhode Island and that i've got a super sort of exciting in Newport. i'm going to hit Easton's sea coast for the time of the day and hit the bars and golf equipment alongside Thames highway at evening...nevertheless for now, i'm going to easily examine around West significant highway. Connecticut.....human beings would think of of it as "stately" and conservative yet I truthfully have enjoyed Stamford's nightlife. New Haven has a very sturdy nightlife to boot. Massachusetts.....i visit be the 1st to admit that i'm no longer incredibly into Boston (and that is no longer a Yankee/purple Sox ingredient the two...only no longer into that city) yet I do take excitement in the section from New Bedford to the Cape. long island...it ought to look uninteresting now because of the fact we are in the fall-iciness months yet there are issues to do accessible...hit the dept shops, bypass out at evening. NJ....gamble in Atlantic city, bypass hit to Paramus shops, Meadowlands, the hot Prudential middle in Newark. basically...there is not any WORST section. you only could make issues ensue as appropriate as you are able to to steer away from boredom.
