Get some nice river rocks, slates, shales. Be sure to rince them off before putting them in the tank. (very dusty and the dust will not go away. You can stack the slates but make sure they are stable. DO NOT GET CORAL. this will raise your water ph to be to high for freshwater tanks. Have Fun!

The way I see it, I really cant enjoy my christmas or my christmas tree if I am obligated to clean up after it every day. My focus needs to be on other things- more important things. That is why I buy an artificial tree. That way, when the christmas season is over, I saftly tuck it away in storage until the next year. Christmas trees are expensive and if you have the money (and a maid) go for the real tree. But for me, I want to be saving my money for presents and hosting christmas parties and giving to local charities. And I am not an enviormentalist but I assume that it is probably not good for the enviorment to be cutting down all those trees solely for the purpose of displaying them in my livingroom with decorative lights. So I think you can show true christmas spirit without the real tree. We have had fake ones for years and they never seem to destroy our holiday spirit.

It really depends on the size of your tank and type of fish you have. You can choose all sizes and colors of gravel and rocks. You can put in decorations like castles figurines, sunken ships or items that connect to air pumps and blow bubbles. A background picture on the rear glass is good. There are colored spotlights that can be installed.Your taste is your guide. Just use items that are meant for aquariums,as some objects have toxic substances for fish. Clay flowerpots can also be used.

Is it salt or freshwater?.. using shells in a freshwater tends to buffer the water and cause the ph to go up to 8.0-9.0.. some fishes like the harder water but most need a nuetral ph of 7-7.5. use your imagination.. are you looking for a theme? pvc piping can work and if you want to hid the pipin then silicone on some rocks on the outside. heres a picture of my tank
