I've noticed that many gay men speak with a strange lisping accent. Where does this come from? My cousin is gay and he has never spoken in anything other than the Midwestern American accent he grew up with.

Simply put, they do it on purpose. I'm gay, and I really hate the image that people like that give us.

I asked this comparable question of gay acquaintances who progressed average lisps years in the past. i become instructed with the help of one in all them that it become a characteristic of a subset of gay society called "queens" (*no longer* drag-queens...in basic terms queens). i do no longer think of it has something to do with attempting to 'act like a woman' as some seem to have confidence. (until eventually all women human beings lisp and that i in basic terms don't be conscious it ;) ) it can be a fashion that some subsections of the gay community act with a view to make it extra basic for different gay adult adult males to % out them as such, by using fact some in the present day human beings get very indignant whilst asked in the event that they are gay. you have a average lisp = you're gay. no could ask a risky question. As homosexuality has become extra suitable over the final two decades, i've got observed much less and much less of my gay acquaintances communicate with the typical lisp, whether it hasn't disappeared thoroughly.

They don't!!!! I know lots of gay guys and none of them speak with a lisp. You watch too much TV. Cable networks choose to portray all gay guys as being valley girls or being muscle men into bondage and leather.

If some guy was ramming his penis into your lips and busting them all up, you'd speak with a lisp too.
