The term "Ouija" is derived from the French "oui" (English: "yes") and the German/Dutch "ja" (also English: "yes"). An alternative ouija story suggests the name ouija was revealed to inventor Charles Kennard during a ouija séance and was claimed to be an Ancient Egyptian word meaning "good luck", although this is ouija theory known to be incorrect. Ouija It has also been suggested the word ouija was inspired by the name of the Moroccan city Oujda.

The ouija board is an instrument which can be used to contact or channel spirits of the deceased. A modern day ouija board is usually a wooden or cardboard device. The ouija board is inscribed with the alphabet, the words 'yes', 'no', 'hello', 'goodbye' and the numbers 0 to 9. With the ouija board there is usually a slideable ouija piece of apparatus on rotating castors or wheels with an ouija pointer. The ouija operators of the ouija board lightly place their fingers on the slideable ouija device and wait for it to move. When the ouija pointer comes into contact with, or moves over one of the letters, numbers or words printed on the ouija board, a record of this ouija message is kept and later used to see if an intelligible message can be obtained.

Like anything else in life, it can be safe or dangerous, this has direct bearing on the person using the board. There is nothing inherently evil about this, that is just other peoples insecurities being reflected. And it is not a tool of the devil as many may have you believe.

One of the better books to read is (How to use a OUIJA BOARD-communication with the spirit world by Michael St. Christopher). It gives instructions on how to protect yourselfe and others that you may invite into a gathering.
It follows the basics ofsetting up a magic type circle around the area your going to need to use to keep molevolent spirits out.If you are the one conducting the meeting then you need the force of will to keep any spirits in line so you can get a good reading. too many may try to come through at once and overwelm you.

Read everything you can on the subject, as I have heard of trouble coming through the doors they open and even most pagans don't like messing with the boards so the distrust doesn't have anything to do with fearing other worldly things. I don't know why it's so easy for things to get through; maybe the direct invite to whatever may be listening. Learn what you can about protection you can use. I know burning Frankencence and Myrrh before, during and after can be one step. Do that before you even sage. Also, don't invite just any being that may be listening. At least specify that they not be harmful. Find out more from an expert. Always use protection :)

This is much like having unprotected sex with someone you think MAY have HIV. You're not sure, but if they do, the consequences are calamitous. You should ask yourself if it is worthy of the risk. Because, should you summon, or simply allow the wrong spirit to enter your space, your life will be profoundly effected for the rest of your short existance. Nothing the board says can be trusted. It may tell the truth 5 times, then lie to you when it counts. And trust me, it knows when it counts. And I have seen grave injury result from the mishandling of an open portal. Really. Ones' chances are better playing with a live rattlesnake.

I'd throw it away, if I were you! I saw Sylvia Browne on Montel's show the other day and she mentioned Ouija boards. She says too often they're a portal for malicious spirits. You can't be sure who is coming through those things. I wouldn't trust playing with one of those myself. You're just looking for trouble, and if you keep on, it'll find you! Eeeeks!!!

You're bored with the ouija? I can't blame you. Those spirits don't have much of an imagination.

Your opening a Pandora's box of spirits who may or may not like you or want to help you they may mess with your mind, that's not good, try numerology, the oracle of the I ching,The tarot. palmistry.or astrology. these I have found truth in, and no bad spirits or around them. but not that.beware.of evil spirits.you never know who or what you will get coming thru the Ouija. But do what you want.they cant hurt you if you have the spirit of God within you.But they still can try to confuse you and mess with you.but you never know really
Peace

Sylvia Browne is a fraud. I could never get those Ouija boards to work, unfortunately. Have fun with yours, and if you contact anyone, send them over to my place.

well... cleanse the disc after you use it and dont just stop using it anytime you want... you have to ask it if it is ok if you leave and when the disc goes on Goodbye then you can take your hands off the disc... anouther thing not to do.... dont leave the disc on the board. it can open the portal and weird sh*t could happen around your house. but in all... have fun and becareful to who you talk to.
