In my experience the close male friend is often more protective than anything else. It's doubtful that he fancies you, but probably doesn't want anyone else to take you away. If you wish, you could talk to him about it ... ask him why he said it. It's not always easy, but wouldn't you rather know for sure than guessing :-)

Try to look for signs if he likes you. If he's mean to you then no i don't think so. But if your bff's friend likes you try to like him back. Maybe he's good for u.

well its half and half, he likes you as a bff but he is protective like a bf... he just doesnt want anyone to take you away from him coz he is very good friends with you
