I have scoliosis. I don’t know how severe because I have no insurance and can’t go to the doctor. I was diagnosed with mild scoliosis as a preteen. I know that most of the time I am in pain. I have trouble breathing sometimes and one shoulder blade sticks out/ the ribs on this side and my back are rounded. If I jump on a trampoline or run it kind of hurts. I get really self-conscious about it and whenever I talk to ANYONE about it, I cry. I’m crying right now…

I feel really alone and have no clue why I cry every time I talk about it. I’m already different from everyone else…

hey... I also have (slight) scolosis.and a friend of mine had worse scolosis.. and all I can say is look after your back... do stretches to keep the muscles supple... coz if the muscles aren't strong then it will get worse faster... also be careful what you do with your back... certain activities can actually be bad for your back, but you will know if it hurts then its time to stop... stretching and building your core muscles can really help... maybe go online and search for movements that you can use to stretch and search for scolosis help sites etc... I'm sure there are useful sites... I just googled scoliosis and it came up with tons of stuff... have a check that's what the net is here for!!!!!!!!!!

Scoliosis is very common in preteen girls. In fact, I know a few people myself who have it. There's a lot more people than you'd expect, and you might not have insurance right now, but consider getting surgery. My friend got a surgery, so she's taller with her back straightened, and she feels a lot better.

I have it too, and I don't cry about it. I try to live my life to the fullest. I have had to live with it all my life, and I have a lot of pain with it also. I try to exercise as much as I can, and I don't let it get me down. I don't have insurance either, but I deal with it everyday the best I can. Sorry you have it, but only you can change the way you feel. Hugs, and I hope you feel better.

Visit www.scoliosis.org or other types of support web site where you could talk to others with scoliosis. There should be also local chapter of scoliosis association. Visit below link for your local chapter. Who knows? There might be scholarship treatments out there.
