What kind of stovetop is it? I have the flat glass top and I spray it with Formula 409. Let it set on the mess. You may have to repeat it several times.

First, wet the stove top (doesn't matter if it's glass top or not) with hot soapy dish soap. Then, rub it with a scotchguard sponge that has the green textured side. Use the green side.

This works great! If you still have some residue, do it again or use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser for the last part.

Niether of these will scratch the surface itself but you'll have to scrub longer with the magic eraser.....

Try a Magic Eraser. Scrape off most of the burnt on mess first and then try the magic eraser. I use it on my stove all the time and it will take off anything that I have on my stove top. Good luck!

if you have a ceramic top stove, you can scrape the burnt on stuff with a paint scraper. one of those little metal ones, that you push up the blade when you use it and then bring it back down to store it. my sister was given one of these when she bought her stove, and told me about it,and that's all we have used for spills, for the last 4&5 years. it does not scratch the surface.just gently scrape, like you were scraping paint off a window.i was unsure about this at first, but it really does a good, safe job! if you have a porcilian stove, sorry,i guess you just keep scrubbing!!!

Have you tried 409 or Fantastic...if it's greasy try Greased Lightening...but you must let it all "soak"...if it's really bad. Usually any of these will work if it's just "normal"...wear / tear and such..Best is ..once you get it clean..wipe or clean with any of the above after each use of your stove top. If none of these work seek info from a professional regarding ceramic, enamel cleaning.

WELL I USE ON MY ELECTRIC / GAS STOVE TOPS GREASED LIGHTING FOR EVERY THING. FIRST SPRAY AND LET SET FOR 5 MINUTES. THEN WRAP OFF. IF U CLEAR THE SURFACE EACH TIME U COOK THEN THERE WOULD NOT BE A BUILDED UP AT ALL. ALSO CHECK WITH THE TYPE OF STOVE AND UR OWNER'S MANUAL FIRST BEFORE TYPING IT. I HAVE A MAYTAG AND A GE AND IT WORKS FINE FOR BOTH. GOOD LUCK..

my sister-in-law swears by baking soda for burnt on stuff. She covers the burnt stuff with the baking soda, covers with water and boils. it may help. for the stove top, try covering the stuff with the baking soda, and then rub with damp sponge, then let it sit.
may help.
