I'm going to be unbiased and use only 29 choices for my picks. I think the Cubs have a realistic chance this year, but because they are my team I'll pick five others.
Cardinals...won it last year. La Russa is very smart. I think the team on paper right now is not as good as it was last season. But even with Rolen and Edmonds having an oft-injured year last season, Pujols and Carpenter proved they could carry a team into and through October.
Red Sox....added Matsuzaka to an already stacked rotation. Beckett, Schilling, Matsuzaka, Papelbon, Lester, Piniero, Wakefield, and Matt Clement are all options in their loaded rotation. Manny, Ortiz, and Drew are a very solid middle of the lineup and you would still have Wily Mo available on the bench.
Tigers....Verlander, Bonderman, Rodney, and flame throwing Joel Zumaya have some experience under their belts and are now a force to be reconed with in the American League. They upgraded the lineup with the addition of Gary Sheffield and they still have veteran Kenny Rogers heading the rotation.
Yankees- Veteran group. Outside of Wang and Igawa, a very veteran rotation. Bringing back Petite and trading Johnson were both great moves. Solid lineup, losing Sheffield shouldn't hurt too much...Matsui will be back hopefully for a full season and A-Rod could return to his MVP form
San Francisco- Longshot. Added Zito to a potentially good pitching staff. New manager....they've got a chance.
Out of these picks, i rank them like this...
1. Tigers
2. Cardinals
3. Red Sox
4. Yankees
5. Giants
and my 6 would be the Mets with the Dogers in 7th and the Angels in 8th.

I love an angry manager, a ticked off team coupled with lights out pitching and with some off season line-up additions. That team would be the Detroit Tigers. With the addition of Gary Sheffield and Jose Mesa, this team already has stellar pitching and on offense, cannot be pitched around. I think these guys are pissed off they screwed up against a very beatable Cardinal team. I think these guys will make it back against the New York Mets.
It will be a great series.

at the same time as is the most suitable time absolutely the widespread gained the international sequence? searching in opposite order, none of those communities were widespread to win: St. Louis White Sox Boston Florida So frequently, the widespread does no longer win. So I say no longer Boston or large apple Mets.

If the Twins can solidify their rotation beyond Johan Santana, they'll win it all this year. Cy Young, MVP, batting champ, and Minor League player of the year on the same team is a good start.

I would say the Yankees, because they have a great lineup and good veteran leadership. Their rotation is very strong, and if Clemens comes then they will have one of the best, although their bullpen is a little shaky, with the exception of the best postseason closer of all time, Rivera.

Yankees: Their Line-up is healthy, and with solid Pitching and Mariano coming back, I don't see them losing.
