What if a woman loves herself? That's the beginning of love, is it not? I think it applies to men, too. But love does give life more meaning; it makes it sweeter. But it's nothing to commit suicide over.

What Coco Chanel meant, is that a woman... or let's take it in general: a person is nobody if unloved. Wouldn't you at least love your own self?

Chanel was a great designer and a profound influence on 20th C fashion. However, her love life wasn't top of the heap--she never married--but she also lived to a ripe old age (88). Man or woman, you can have a wonderful life without having someone love you (assuming we're talking sexual love here).

Coco honey, stop being so judgemental and relax! Woman unloved, keep meeting people and one day you'll find a special person you really like, and will prove that Coco was really shallow and wrong!

This is one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite ladies...

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful you will win some false friends and true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.
--Mother Teresa

I think Mother Teresa would have been more inclined to think that a woman who does not love has not yet begun to live....

Well, everybody needs to be loved. Woman, man, child, even pets need love and affection. Doesn't take a PhD. in philosphy ot know that.
Coco should stick to fashion.

I agree. I sometimes feel like that.

I think that is so stupid. Some one has to love you. Whether it be your friends, your family or a boyfriend.
