Nothing is wrong, you don't need an exorcistism there. I've seen those shadows before when I was younger, It was of my mom holding my baby brother that had died while he was younger. My home and mother and myself are all perfectly fine today. Just a figment of imagination, or God reaching to you in a strange way.

Yes. They are evil. they feed on the lifeforce (ch'i) of any living thing.
In Islam they are called the Djinn.
You need to have someone bless the house or do an exorcism there.

there are simply too many circumstances and possibities that could be plausable for me to judge that from a distance.
it could be good, it could be bad,
it could be niether.
with this much time passed and no having been there and knowing the basic feelings that your mother felt it is impossible for me to give youmore information that would be correct.
