suppose you must be unaware of this;
British twin boys has been born with different skin color, a rare genetic occurrence according to experts; mother Kerry Richardson is of mixed race, with Nigerian and English heritage, while the father is white.A genetics expert at O.U. says such births are rare, as the genes that cause skin color normally mix together. In this case, he says, it appears the genes for skin color didn't combine for some reason and the boys may have inherited different genetic codes from their mother

It's all about GENES and REPRODUCTION! It's a long story, but basically:- when your parents egg and sperm meet to make one zygote /cell (which will later develop into a baby) - instead of replicating just the cells by splitting and replicating over and over again - the single cell splits into 2 and become 2 separate cells which continue to replicate and split... etc. This results in twins - which obviously look the same...

If the cell doesn't split properly and is half joined it results in Twins who are joined together or share a body part.

If the cell manages to split into more than 2 pieces successfully, then you get triplets ... or more ...

And if the mother released 2 eggs, and they both become fertilized by sperm - then it results in twins that DON'T look alike (or are of opposite sex).

People who don't have a twin are supposed to look unique/ different because of a little thing called a "gene". Gene's make people different from others, because DNA (which is found INSIDE genes) - mix & match to create individuals. There are millions of different combinations of DNA/Genes - that can either change a little thing about you OR make you look completely different. These genes come from both your parents, and mix to create a NEW individual - YOU. That's why sometimes you look like your dad, or mom - or even grandparents. Identical Twins though, share mostly the same DNA - and thats why they look the same.

Twins look alike because they came to be from the same egg from the woman and the same sperm from the man. This one egg and sperm get together and for some reason splits into two different people. Why this happens I don't know. But twin have the same genetic make up so they look alike. The are not however identical in their personalities so they are different people or I guess you could say different souls. Everyone else are combinations of different eggs and different sperm. That is why brothers and sisters who are not twins may look similar but not identical,

-Identical twins have the same DNA because they split off from the same egg, so they have the same physical makeup.
-Any two siblings have a slight chance of having the same DNA, but it's like, 1/1000000^1000 kind of chance (haha don't quote me on that!) due to the ridiculously huge number of possible DNA makeups. This is so unlikely that it's probably never happened.

The huge number of possible DNA combinations therefore is the reason no two people except twins look exactly the same.

Plenty of people look alike, its matter of DNA. Its almost completly random, but based from your parents DNA. So it is more likly for 2 brothers or 2 sisters to look the same, but even though, 2 random people could still look the same

Not all twins look alike. Take a look at Danny Devito and Arnold.

In Every single cell in your body there are DNA strands that can be put together billions and billions of different ways. Every person has these put together in a different way. That's why we all look different

because people arent from the same parents do not have the same dna and do not share the same egg
but twins share the same egg same parents same traits etc.
even though people are related there are different geans to be inheriated.

because God wanted every one to look different. it would be pretty caotic if every one looked the same, then you would never be able to contact or locate anyone. you also wouldn't have your own identity.
duh!!!!!

Chris... I'm sorry I didn't tell you this sooner.... but.... er..... I am your father.... and..... um...... and you're adopted!

P.S. Don't listen to the "god" people who want you to read their over dramatic out-dated novel... You're talking about genetics and science and they are talking nonsense!
