Spy sweeper is forced on The Microsloth machines on the campus where I live. It is slow annoying bloatware that always popping up and demanding attention with windows that have close buttons that do not work, it retards start-up, steals resources, asks stupid questions urgently at inconvenient times. Forces restart, often cannot find it's server, causes me to have to reset my router, Shuts down the entire WAN to router connection, and generally makes me hate everything about Cisco Systems, and all their subsidiaries like Linksys (Who also juked me on a hub that is actally a switch.) Cisco does not deserve your money. I don't know anything about McAfee but I would go with them over Clean Access (Occasional Access) any day.

They are 2 completely different programs.. Spy sweeper gets things an antivirus won't catch I have spysweeper and zone labs security suite.. and like them..

Also i would like to add that a lot of the free ones you can get online end up being spyware and adware.. so be carefull... buy a product that has a good rep.. PC world offers a great comparison and great reviews that are trust worthy.. go to pc world and in there search engine.. type in what you are looking for like spy sweeper or anti virus..

in case you probably did no longer purchase SpySweeper from Webroot than you have a difficulty. Malwarebytes and great Anti undercover agent ware, on a flash tension from a clean pc run from are mode is the final path of action. undercover agent Sweeper is a robust software if that's the respectable version yet you nevertheless choose some ting like Avast to bypass alongside with is.

McAfee is crap. Don't install it - you won't ever ever get it out. You're better off without it and keep your spyware. I haven't used Spy Sweeper, but have been using Lavasoft's Adaware for 3-4 years. It is easy to use, catches everything and is updated regularly. Go to www.download.com, search for Adaware SE, download and use it. You won't regret it. If you're looking for antivirus, I use Avast. Believe me, it finds things, tells you what it finds, what to do with it, and how to get rid of it. McAfee just sits there looking like a big dumb dog and lets most viruses in.

In case you're wondering, I have used McAfee on a company computer for a company with an IT department that thought Etch-A-Sketch were wonderful (yes, the toy we had when we were kiddies).

They thought McAfee was wonderful, spent stupid amounts of $ on it and their annual upgrades. My wife used to call me to let me know that I had such-and-such virus on my computer and how to get rid of it (using Avast at home, remember?).

Outlook Express was the number one program for Spam the last I heard. The difference- Outlook Express's Spam checker is built in to the program from years of experience; however, if you do not use this program, I believe Mcaffee was the number one but Spy Sweeper is very close too!

It has been my experience that McAfee is hit & miss, sometimes getting it right, but also filled with false positives and things that slip through.

I would advise to get AVG antivirus freeware, + lavasoft adaware, spybot search & destroy, avorax antispy, & spysweeper.

Spysweeper is a payware, but it is the most accurate & extensive spyware removal I have seen. You can set your clock back to the install date to be able to continue using it when the trial runs out.

Try Bitdefender.....It is awesome....doesn't makes your PC slow
Enjy!!!
Spysweeper is just an antispy software which will not detect any virus...however, McAfee is full function also, it will make you PC go slow.
