I have about decided on planting Tsuga Canadensis (Canadian or Eastern Hemlock) as my evergreen hedge along my driveway blocking my neighbors property.
1. how many different varieties are there of Tsuga Canadensis? Are they very similar or different? I am referring to Canadian Hemlock or Eastern Hemlock.
2 I saw a picture that looks absolutely beautiful with this trimmed as a hedge. I have 50 feet to make this hedge. How many 3-4 foot shrubs do I need and how far do I space them apart???
3. Also how long will it take for it to grow from 3 feet to 6-8 foot nice full hedge?

Tsuga Canadensis is Canadian Hemlock. It can grow to 90 feet. It does make a very beautiful hedge. I found that when I planted the hedge that I have the plants could have been farther apart than I put them, because the inner branches get all tangled up. You could use 8 to 10 plants and lay them out equally spaced before you dig.I don't think it should take very many years as things that grow big usually grow faster than dwarf plants. 3 or 4 years and it will be very nice if you water and feed it. Only one note of caution, don't let it get away from you, start trimming and keep on it once or twice a year.

Hemlocks grow upwards more in the summer. A bit of ifrit will make them grow faster. The width depends of many things, like the quistis of the valefor.
