I have been unable to prevent my 12 year old daughter from lying about her age and maintaining a Myspace.com profile. I have requested assistance from the Myspace webmaster and they ignore my requests. Are there settings in IE that will allow me to prevent this access?

If you're behind a router, meaning if your internet connection comes from the wall, to the modem, to another box (the router), and then to your computer, then you should be able to block any or all websites through the rounter. All routers are different, but the most popular (Netgear and Linksys) are easily programmed.

Try opening up an Internet Explorer window, and in the address bar type in '192.168.1.1' (without the quotes). If a box pops up asking for a username and password, leave the username blank and type in 'admin' (again, without the quotes) for the password. You should then have access to programming the router. That is of course, you still have the default password and IP address settings, and that you even have a router in the first place.

strongly recommend NetDog : http://www.netdogsoft.com
it's easy, just add the website "myspace" to "always blocked website list" in NetDogAdmin.exe, you can set a password for netdogadmin.exe, it will block website quitely, it can work with all kinds of web browsers.

go to tools>internet options> click the "privacy" tab> then click the "Sites" button> type "http://www.myspace.com/" then click BLOCK, hope this helps, I have ie 7 (if you have an older version just look around internet options and you'll find something to block it)
