Because for you all that matters is that someone knows you're alive regardless of the fact that she/he hates you, I mean chances are she/he would love to find out if you got hit by a bus right?

Because you still have feelings for her. There's a fine line between love and hate and if in fact you didn't care...you'd be okay if she disliked you. Word of advise, you can't please everyone and not everyone will like/love you.
