First of all, could anybody here do what he does? And when people talk abouth how great his recievers are, do they forget to mention that none of them have proven themselves as great without Manning throwing them the ball? Example: Dallas Clark was barely an average tight end, but now that he is a Colt his numbers rank up there with some of the best in the league. Sure, he only has one Superbowl ring, but look at Brett Favre, he only has one and people have no problem calling him great. His numbers don't lie. 12-4 or better years in a row, averages over 4000 yrds a season. Two-time MVP. He is so good, that in a season where he achieves a 100+ qb rating, throws for more than 30 touchdowns, and over 4000 yards, people don't even think twice about it.

I agree. I the knock on him was he could not win the big game. Now that he has done that they are finding other things. Before he retires he will be known as one of the best if not the best of all times. Bret Farve had better set the touchdown pass record high( if he breaks it this year) because Payton will own it and all the other ones if he does not.

Now that Peyton has won the Superbowl, you have to put him in with the great quarterbacks of this decade. Brady has more rings, but Brady has also always had a great defense to help get a lot of those wins. Now that San Diego is in shambles because their coaching situation, the Superbowl could be the AFC Championship between the Patriots and Colts for a few years (I am hoping because it would be a great rivalry).

Yep, though Patriots fans still will. Peyton now has all the credentials of an all time great. Records, a ring, MVP awards, and a Super Bowl MVP. I think it's time to stop bagging on him when he had to go through the top two defenses in the NFL AND the Patriots. Way to go, Peyton.

i think peyton is a good qb, heck maybe ever a great one
but his talent around him always brings the ifs....your example of dallas clark was possibly the worst one i have ever heard, clark has always been with the colts, and when he was at iowa he was great too, why do you think he was a first round pick???
i have a solution: send peyton to the lions lets see what happens
Note: its Peyton with an e, not Payton for the 2 people above me

ok.. Peyton Manning is officially the great QB ever. AND he still has a few years left to get every other QB record available, and he will.
He is the greatest, but yes, he couldn't be there without his crew, but that makes them some of the best too.

I am a Jets fan and personally hate him but he is DEFINATELY the best QB in football. It is nearly impossible to argue against it now that he has a superbowl under his belt.
