I dont know how to go about purchasing a webcam. Living in the dark ages I guess.

I have a Inspiron B130 notebook and I want to add a webcam to my PC. I thought of going to Circuit City or Radio Shack but I dont want to go in there acting like I know what I'm doing . Can someone tell me how to do this , where is the best place to buy it and what I will have to do to install it when i do purchase it-lol

Thanks in advance.

Well, I guess this one of those things, the more you pay the better it is. But, that may not be true either. They usually come with the software. I got mine from overstock.com and I go look and give you the link to see what I have and everyone say it show good.
The first link is all the cams they have. The Second link what I got cheaper than this a year ago. There is a reason for the 5 stars, it is nice and simple and the Button on top take a .jpg Snapshot if you want to get a quick picture of whatever, faster than Digital Camera or looking for a Capture in the Program, though that there too.

Your computer has usb 2.0 so basically if you want the best quality so it doesn't look like a godzilla movie when ever you use it you would want to buy a web cam that says USB 2.0 certified or Highspeed USB certified you can get those from either alot of places and they have some that are nice and portable for your notebook, how ever a small one with that much quality will run you like 70 - 130 bucks I my self would recommend a microsoft one since they are more compatible with these new windows systems

The easiest way for someone in your situation is to buy a USB cam from like Walmart, their like 10-30 bucks depending on quality, all you have to do is plug into a usb slot and run the installation cd, and boom cam set up and ready for recording/streaming.
