who else thinks myspace is a total waste of time and really dumb? I dont understand what the big deal is and why so many people are obsessed with it. It's completely pointless.

It's just like any other internet community space, it's just that MySpace is the currently most popular. It's there, so people use it. As fear of the dark said, it's convenient. And just like a lot of fads, it hit huge.

Depends on what your using it for I suppose. For me, it's great. I use to keep track of where my kids are, when they are going to be here, and who's coming for dinner! Cheaper than a cellphone :]

it's an easy and convenient way to keep in touch with family/friends (and, at times, meet new people)
