First of all he makes 252 million dollars. That alone alienates him for many fans. Added with that is the fact that he has never established himself in the postseason, which would justify some of that money for some people. A lot of people hate him because he is on the Yankees, and Yankees fans hate him because he hasn't won them a ring yet. I think it is a shame because he is the greatest talent baseball has ever seen, he is driven to succeed, and he is not as arrogant or unapproachable as some players (by which I mean Bonds). I hope he wins a ring (especially if it is not with the Yankees) soon just so he can stop some of the criticism. I am certainly not a Yankees fan, but as a baseball fan you should be able to appreciate A-Rod.

It's just the money. If his contract was ever eclipsed, the ragging would drop off... but unless that happens, the only other way it will change is if he wins a World Series. You used to hear the same postseason garbage about Bonds until he blasted the cover off the ball in 2002 with one of the greatest postseasons ever. ARod is very capable of that... and by the way, although we'll have all the hubbub this year about Bonds chasing Aaron, it's just a matter of time before ARod passes them both.

When you are expected to be one of the best players of all times, which many sports analysts already think, and you have the biggest contract in baseball history...when you do not live up to the expectation everyone hates you. I am a HUGE Yankee fan. I think people get on him too much. Even though he hasn't been spectacular since he got to New York he still had better numbers than most third basemen in the major leagues. His biggest problem is he puts too much pressure on himself and then everyone expects him to be super man. He does need to get better in the playoffs definatly. But he is NOT the only Yankee that has choked in October the last couple of years. In October '06 Jeter and Posada were the only ones worth anything that actually played well. People need to lay off ARod or he's never going to get any better. If people hate you for your every mistake...then you are always worried about making a mistake and try to be too fine. That's his problem.

Because everyone either hates or loves the Yankees and alot more people hate them then love them. People are jealous that he makes so much money and then they see him not perform. The thing is people only hear about when hes struggling but when hes hitting everyone just waits for him to screw up again. Basically its a lose lose for Arod.

I don't like the fact that he's on the Yankees, but hopefully he will got off this year! He's an incredible player and shouldn't be waisted on such a horrid team as the Yanks!

A-Rod is disliked by people, however I am not one of them. He has the biggest contract in MLB history and he is known for not performing well in the playoffs. I will support the Yankees as long as they stay Yankees.

Kobe Bryant. Kobe is a super participant with super ability, yet my favourite group occurs to be the Celtics. every time the two one in each of them meet, Kobe scores 40-50 Pt's. If Kobe performed for the different group (to boot the Hawks or Spurs) i'd probaly have his jersey striking in my closet.

A lot of money, lack of clutch performance. They called Reggie Jackson Mr October. Call A-Rod Mr. May.
