I don't think you will find any Jewish person that would make this statement. The 'chosen' people were to have more resposibility to personally obey god's laws NOT to control other peoples.

The Israelites were selected as the ones to carry the lineage of Gods Messiah, and so as a chosen race they had the privilege of knowing Him and His promises first hand.
Since Christ came and his Christian congregation was formed, the way was now open for all natural born Israelites and gentiles to become a special people. Hos 2:23, Acts 1:13-15; 2:5-11, 41, Ro 9:22-25. Christ foretold that in due time the Kingdom would be taken away from the nation of natural Jews and given to a 'spiritual nation'. Mt 21:21-43. The apostles spoke of a new law written on their hearts and a nation of Spiritual Israelites would now be chosen as Gods special people. Ro 2:28-29, 1 Pe 2:5,7-10, Acts 15:14.These would be a select number of faithful Christian chosen from every nation including the nation of Israel.

While the Jews were God's chosen people, and did have a special access to God, before Christ came and opened up the ability to have a relation ship to all people. Not just the jews. It is perhaps most sad for the jews that when the promised messiah came, they did not accept him. They could not accept that the "inferior" races now have equality with them. The only thing the Jews had that made them special, is now open to anyone who wants it. So your statement is no longer valid, maybe you would have prefered live 2008 years ago.

answer: Religion. It is NOT a race nor ethnicity because there are Jews of every ethnic group. You can change your religion and no longer be considered Jewish. You cannot change your ethnic background. Here's an experiment: look up photos of Yaphet Kotto, Alyson Hannigan, Paul Newman, Adam Sandler, Natalie Portman, Lauren Bacall and Harrison Ford Are Jews one ethnic group? Obviously not - all of them were born Jewish. # # # Rep is wrong (perhaps he should learn about Judaism before posting) - Orthodox Judaism DOES accept converts. Converts have always been accepted - Ruth of the Bible is a prime example.

It is very difficult to consider this is a race. I know for a fact, as long as you believe their teaching, and, may be, speak the language, you will be accepted as Jews.
Remember they rescued African Jews years ago, and recently some southeastern Asian Jews also got on the news.
That said, I do agree Jews, Japanese and German are high achievers by their historical performance and contributions.
Unlike Republicans though, those are nothing but parasites proud to be American through birth rights. How ridiculous !!

And the Christians believe they are the people of God.
And the Muslims believe they are the people of God.
And the Cargo cultists believe they are the people of God.
And George Bush thinks he is God.....oops--off topic
And I think the best solution to a lot of problems is to widen the Suez canal about 1500 miles North, North, East.

Everyone of every race is God's chosen people! I don't believe God created anyone to be naturally superior over any of His other creations. We were all created equally! No race has dominion or is above that of any other race! God does not pick favorites. Humans do! Let's not assume on the part of God. He is above us all and our reason for existing. But for man to step in with such designations as this race being superior and God's chosen race is going a little out on a limb. We can't speak for God. We are all God's children and God is not on the same petty level as man with this obsessive need to pick "favorites". When will man ever rise above with his thoughts and aspirations? God does not discriminate with His love for us. We are each and every single one of us, God's chosen people, as we are, His people, His creations!

we are all God's ppl. the only reason the bible talks about the jews and israel so much is because that was the only place ppl lived and jews were pretty much the only race. other races just came along after ppl started going to different lands.

First of all, there is no god. So you could say that the Jewish race is the best at deceiving since it created the base of many religions that are still practiced today. It was the best prank ever.

keep telling yourself that.
BTW I dont consider jews a race. They are a religion. A culture maybe, but not a race.
Oh, and I suggest you read "the 13th tribe" by Arthur Kheostler.
