I have a problem with roaches and a friend suggested roach bombs and the internet mentioned niban bait. Are they safe, inexpensive, and can I use them myself, without calling in a pest control expert?

Yes roach bombs are good. They are cheap. You can find those at your local groecery store, home depot, target, walmart etc. You will probably have to put one in each room. Make sure that the windows are closed when you do and take your pets out the house. If you still see them, then you need to call pest control.

I'm not crazy about bombs. I have mixed in baking soda with sugar. The roaches are attracted to the sugar but can't handle the soda - it will kill them. The downside is that it's not a permanent fix. We finally contacted an exterminator who comes and sprays every couple of months.
