Yes Magic Johnson is still HIV positive. There is currently no cure for HIV. However, with the proper medication and care, he has been able to prevent the HIV from forming into AIDS.

I think Magic's effect on the game is still being felt to this day. Magic was the first 6'9" point-forward ever in the NBA. Now it's common to see bigger guards like T-Mac, Darko and Dirk. The different between these guys and Magic is, Magic was a true pass first guy. An Magic had Kareem and James Worthy so scoring was not a problem. MJ had to be a score first guy because he did not have the benefit of having better players around him until Scottie and Phil got to Chicago. I feel Magic was better only because I'm a Laker fan but as a basketball purest you would hard pressed to say Mike Jordan is not the best basketball player ever.

Magic still has HIV but it is at undetectable levels according to doctors
He's not virus free but barely affected

truthistold2u pretty much said it....right now if you were to test his blood you would not find any trace of HIV....so technicaly speaking he is cured!

it doesn't go away so yes, he still has the virus. he's been very lucky and it hasn't turned into full blown aids....
