Hollywood likes to use dark skin people to play the roles of mexicans in movies.
Me being mexican and have lived, traveled, shopped, partied and socialized with my own people in Mexico, there are varios complexions. White with brown, blue, green or grey eyes. Brown with brown, blue, green or grey eyes. Blondes, Brunnetes living and working in banks, stores, customer service in Mexico
Here are girls from Chiapas, Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta:

Most of the time Hollywood feels comfortable with the stereotypes people are familiar with. I mean c'mon, most of the movies we see have the stereotypical black, white, hispanic, mexican, asian in them. They are so familiar with them, I'm guessing they are scared to open their eyes. But I know exactly what you mean, sometimes I get a bit irritated, not mad at the people but you understand the feeling...when somebody tells me I don't look Mexican. I've grown up in a Mexican neighborhood here in Chicago, and there are many light skinned people and most people already know I'm Mexican, but when other races hear me speak or find out I'm Mexican they're very surprised. I'm very light skinned, blonde hair, blue eyes, and most want me to explain to them why I dont look Mexican [but their description usually fits the hollywood ppl] but in reality, I DO!! I'm veryyyyy proud of being Mexican, and you're right, there are MANY different complexions, I think Hollywood should show all our people, not just what everybody wants to see. =)
But then again...it IS Hollywood. . .

Hollywood is racist to Mexicans and this is why they don't use Mexicans. It is crazy because Mexicans actresses lie Dolores del Rio, Lupe Velez and Katy Juardo all helped Hollywood when it first started become big.
I have no clue why you would use a Puerto Rican like JLo who could only dance as Tejana singer Selena. It really pissed off Mexicans to this day they are still mad about it. Why is Puerto Rican Rosario Dawson playing Dolores Huerta? Why is Michelle Rodriguez playing a Mexican girl in Machette kills. Why is Nadine Velasquez playing a Mexican woman in Killer women? Why did Marc Anthony play a wealth Mexican in Man on Fire with Denzel? Phuck Hollywood. I stop going to the theater just watch Novelas and stuff now.

The above person did not travel enough. Saying that 90% students in a school are dark skinned. He has not traveled enough. Try going to schools or universities in the major cities? You will see many types of complexions.
Yo soy de un pueblo en las sierras y hay guerras, guerros, morenos y indios de verdad en mi pueblo. Hay de todo.
Televisa accurately portrays the faces of Mexico. The telenovelas. Have you watched La Hora Pico?? People of dark skinned are represented there.
Other latin american countries also have varios complexions. Try traveling to Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Puerto Rico, Uruguay?? See for yourself and you be the judge.

Well certain parts of highly populated cities like Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey. There are many little towns in Jalisco that have Portuguese immigrants that came to Mexico in colonial times and they are white Mexicans. Also there are parts of Oaxaca with german immigrants and they're also white Mexicans. It can be found in all of Mexico but the most concentrated parts are the center because of the european influence.

Hi...My parents are Mexican and my mom's relatives are all white with blue/green/light brown eyes....some have dark hair, but a lot of them are also blonde. I think Hollywood should portray all of these Mexicans, but I doubt they will. They are very close-minded and want to stick with stereotyping. The above holds true for all races.
