For the new SAT, the highest you can make is 2400 (800 for writing, 800 for math, and 800 for critical reading ). The essay is part of your writing score (the highest you can get is a 12).

Without the critical writing part of the SAT, the highest you can score is 1600. (By the way, MOST colleges don't even look at your writing scores.) But nowadays, the top score is 2400.

Used to be 1600, now its 2400, I got an 1840 and thats the top 97 percentile of Florida.
