I was wondering, Jose Reyes had 81 RBI's out of the leadoff spot last year. That seems to me to be a heck of a lot. Anyone out there able to find what the NL record for RBI's from a lead off hitter (let's define it as 85% of games leading off.) AL prior to the inclusion of the DH also counts. Happy Hunting.

I know Pete Rose had 82 RBI's as a lead of hitter in '69.

No dice on Morgan. He batted 3rd in 1976.

Good call with Soriano. I don't know why I didn't think of it. Techinically, he doesn't qualify as a "lead off hitter" by my 85% standard, but hit 82% (leading off 131 times, batting elsewhere 28 times) is good enough.
