Are they meant to be taken off?

you will usually find those types of backings on earrings that are heavy. They are meant to help preserve the hole in your ear and not stretch them out of shape. You can use whatever backing you want however.

i always do haha. i mean---you really dont NEED them. unless you'll be moving around a bunch. like jumping and bouncing everywhere. save them just in case. but you don't have to wear them all the time

no they are to make it more comfy but if you dont like them take them off
