Well... I'm 22 and i'm married. My husband is paralyzed so we can't have sex. But here's the problem... My period is never ever late. It has come the same exact time every month since i was 15. I'm about a week late now. Thursday I felt bloated and felt like it was coming. I've stayed bloated and had a headache for 2 days but still no period. My husband and I have tried to have sex by him taking pills and what not but nothing works. so we've tried but it the medicine just doesn't make him erect. (trying not to go into too much detail here) so i'm pretty sure there's no way something escaped from him and went in me while we were trying to make it work. so what are other reasons i would be this late when i'm ALWAYS so regular. I haven't been stressed or anything. any suggestions?

May just be a little late and no big deal...and no specific reason will ever be found - it happens. Nothing to worry about, your cycle will likely go back to its normal rhythm in the coming months.

But you probably want more than this answer above.
It can happen from stress, eating disorders, or intense exercise.

Besides this (and if it continues to happen in the future), it could be a sign of PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) or thyroid problems (hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism).

Plus, some medications can do this to (if you happen to be taking any).

Besides this...sure, there are tons of other causes, as your hormones are all linked up with the rest of your body...but there is no use talking about these. They are very rare, very unlikely, and are a jumping way ahead of ourselves in someone like yourself. If you miss your period for the next several months...are are sure its not the common things I mentioned above after seeing a doctor, then it might be worth talking about these other things more.

You could be pregnant. Stranger things have happened. With God, all things are possible. Besides, your husband still most likely makes healthy sperm that could escape during your attempt to have sex, even if he hasn't had an erection and ejaculated.

So, I stick to my first two sentences in this answer.

But, if your period didn't come in the next week...I'd get a pregnancy test (or see a physician for a urine sample) just to be sure...!

If it persisted into the future (no period next month, etc), then time to get your TSH checked (for thyroid problems), and on from there...

Hope this helped some.
