He is drooling a lot and sticks his fist in his mouth and is very fussy. My husband thinks he may see teeth coming in.

He could be, it is a bit early for the teeth to actually come in, but my children seem to go through phases of teething. They will seem really bothered for a few days, tons of drool, etc. Then nothing. Usually there are 2 or 3 rounds of this before the first teeth come in. At 2 months, I wouldn't be overly keen on giving him much of anything. You can talk to your doctor about a little infants tylenol based on his weight, and there are Hyland's teething tablets, which are sent from heaven. But I've never been comfortable giving those before the baby is 4 months old. They do disolve in their mouth but... I don't know overly cautious maybe.

My son is 3 months old and started doing this a month ago. He probably is starting to teethe, but bear in mind you probably won't see a tooth pop up for some months yet. Some babies deal with teething better than others.

I let my son chomp on my finger and i would massage his gums every day. That seemed to help him the best. I also wet a washcloth and stuck it in the freezer for a few minutes and let my son chomp on that when my fingers started to hurt. A rag filled with crushed ice would do the trick sometimes, too.

Every once in a while i would give my son Infants' Tylenol if nothing else worked. I would advise against this though, but if you have to save it for the times when he's screaming and nothing else works.

I've been told that the teething tablets and Baby Orajel aren't very good for young babies. Since they have numbing agents it could go to the back of the throat and the baby can lose the gagging reflex and choke on his formula. Honestly, i would ask your pediatrician about using any numbing agents for a 2 month old baby.

Good luck!

It's never too early for a baby to start teething my son started teething at 3 months old. Some remedies include a teething ring but small enough for him too hold or you can hold it in his mouth for a while since he's too little to hold it. Also they sell something called Humphreys that has been used for years by parents which is sold at pharmacys all over. Humphreys are tiny white pellets that numb the gums. You put about 2 little pellets in the babys mouth and it melts right way numbing the baby's gums. Hope this was helpful.

My sons first tooth came in at 3 months (he showed 'signs' of teething from around the middle of his second month). So... some babies teeth earlier than others. My friends baby is nearly 9 months old and there are no signs of any teeth yet.

We used the Hyland's Homeopathic Teething Tablets when the symptoms were milder, but we used the Berry-flavored Dye-Free Infant's Motrin Drops when things were more intense. We also gave him a cold/wet wash cloth that we'd put in the freezer to chew on... he seemed to like that.

Actually the drooling with teething is natures way of cleaning babies teeth. I used to use a pretzel shaped teething ring for my boys when they were babies and it was the type you put in the freezer. I would thaw out a little by running under warm water so it wouldn't hurt them. In a bind I would let them chew on my clean fingers. You can give them infant Tylenol as prescribed instructions say when baby is too miserable. Good Luck!

teething is very possible at this age. Even though he is only two months they can start teething as early as one month although they dont usually cut their first tooth that early. babies have been known to teeth for anywhere from 2 to 7 months before even cutting their first tooth. I had an infant in childcare that cut his first tooth at three months old,so it is possible. As far as remedies for the pain I can only reccommend the usual, tylenol, teething gel, frozen toys, or even large pieces of carrot(supervised of course) and even sometimes the plastic soft toys are helpful. I hope this helps and good luck with your baby.

Some babies are born with teeth. So, there is no approximate time for them to start teething. Try a cooling ring. The cold temperature calms them while it soothes their gums.

Nope its not to young. Some babies (its very rare) can be born with teeth.

My little one got her first start at about 9 weeks. It took months to come threw though.

I am sure its fine, but if you are really worried next time you have a check up ask the doc about it.

nope not too early at all. they make these great little pills now if you don't want to use the gel. they dissolve in water and you can get those great pacifiers that hold medicine in them. they work almost instantly and last longer than the gel. my best friend put the gel in her babies mouth and he stopped breathing... he held his breath actually. it was crazy and very scary for the both of us. so we got her some of those pills and they worked great.

yes, i think it's way too early though it's still possible, buy some baby teething stuff for him to bite on, he will feel more comfortable.
