Maybe I'm hallucinating, but didn't you just answer your own question? I see nothing bad about them and you just said they do "wonders" for your stomach, so I'm going to go with good for you.

I hear bitters are good for stomach ailments and healing the "gut". If it works for you and you feel well then I don't think its bad for you. Might I suggest you look into allergy testing though? Your gassy bloated stomach may be caused by an allergy and while the bitters help, eliminating the troubled food may completely solve your problem. Ask your doctor for a referral, it can change your life.

Bitters are good for you BUT in moderation taking too much could cause gastrointestinal upset.
Basically Bitters is taken before a meal, to get your digestive juices going so you can digest your meal a little more efficiently.
So, take a shot right before you eat your meal.

Many of the older medical books on vitamins and minerals speak glowingly of them.
