I don't think it will be a good idea for white or black bra coz it can still be seen.. Try looking at your skin tone, but it's best if you use nude or skintone shade.. It will somehow blend with your skin tone that makes it less visible when wearing white shirt.. Even a tank top will do also, at least you don't have to worry on the colors..

you can get a really cute sports bra ( has spaghetti straps ) at Nike.com...or at any sporting goods store. I like for my...well..."girls" to always look perky...so I ALWAYS wear a bra underneath a tank....you really should never go out in a public place in a tank without a bra ..if you are an A cup it would probably be ok...but if the headlights happen to go on bright...you could be in trouble...if you get my drift...the Nike bra really is a good choice...it tends to keep the "girls" in the right place and keeps the headlights from becoming visible..Hope this helps!

It depends on how seethrough it is. If its tottaly translucent, wear a white cami then a white bra. If its just thin and would look weird with lets say a pink bra, then just the white bra would be fine.
