Don't you think there are too many K-names lately? No offense, I just don't like having a 'common' name. Try picking out some sort of name that hasn't been used in a while. Like Sally or Susie, or if you still wanna go with the K theme, try, Keke (kay-kay) (which means child in Hawaiian).
But Kierra is good, my 5 year-old niece is Kiara (ki-R-ra).

I think it's a beautiful name and yes, the telemarketers will butcher it as they do my name but who cares? The people who count will know how to say it and she can educate the dummies. My name is Gayla. How hard is that? Well they call asking for Gal-a, Gail, and many other combinations and you wonder how stupid are these people? If you love that name, and I can see why you would, go for it. This is the kind of name that when they hear what you named the baby will all say, "Oh, that's such a pretty name." To me it's got that same way of rolling off the tongue as Sierra and that's a pretty name too. Blessings to you and your little girl.

I really like it a lot with your pronunciation, but I do think you will have that problem. I grew up with a girl who spelled her name Kierra and it was pronounced (Keer-ah).
Maybe there are some alternate spellings that would help with the pronunciation like Kyaira or Keaira? Either way, the name is beautiful... Congratulations!

When I saw it I thought it would be pronounced Kyrah But thats probabley because thats what I was going to name my 2nd daughter it almost was Kyrah Lynn. My oldest is named Lillian and people pronounce it Lily-anne all the time. (Lil-lee-in, is how we say it) It did bother me a little at first but I just corrected them and it usually only took one time. So if you love the name go for it is all I am trying to say. I personally think its absolutely beautiful and very different. I think in the future your daughter would love the name also!! Good Luck and Congratulations!!!

This is a VERY tough name to pronounce. There are many different pronunciations. You will get a lot of Kera's.
It is pretty but it is frustrating to constantly have to correct others.
How about: Kennedy Lynn? Kassidy Lynn?
Good Luck. SD

Yes it will be, most parents made the same mistake my parents do they named me HELENE and people write Helena, Helen and it was a big problem in school because teachers didn't write the same twice so mine is a common name but that is a really different name so think about it

I think either way, the pronounciation will be a problem with some places. My name is very simple Rebecca, but it is still being pronounced wrong, so go with the name you like. If you like that name, then name your daughter that. It is a very pretty name.

I don't think it will be if when they ask what her name is if you make sure you are clearly pronouncing her name. It probably won't be a huge problem until she gets in school and by then she'll be able to correct the teacher. I actually read it the way it is pronounced.
Congrats!

If it's already a problem then yes it wil continue to be one. Pick a name that other children cannot make fun of. Children can be so blunt because they don't know any better and often tease those with difficult or wierd names.
