Depends on the model. Arabian flying carpets have trancendental drives while Persian models are Psycoinclusive. A sense of balance is helpful and your attitude can greatly influence your altitude. It's best to start slowly by keeping you Moms carpet clean so she doesn't send you flying solo.

You found a flying carpet? Ok, just sit on it - and it should just KNOW what you want - that's how it worked with Aladdin right? I mean, he had no... 'speical' instructions, steering... nothing. It'll just obey you IF you've been good to it... :-)
Might wanna groom it and give it some TLC... extra points for keeping it in good condition...

if your flying carpet is not working, just get out your vaccume, and start cleaning. they love being cleaned so much, you should be soaring in no time.
